In this video you’ll see how to inspect and troubleshoot the headlight assembly for a burned out bulb, then replace the headlight bulb on a Taotao ATM150-A Evo Chinese 150cc scooter. The OEM bulb is a Philips HS1 12V/35W. The H4 bulb is compatible, and you can use that instead of the HS1 as long as the H4 is 35 Watts. Do not use a higher wattage bulb–you’ll melt the lens. This is really a 2-man job, but can be done on your own with much patience and diligence.
Also, looking back on this video, if you’re doing the bulb replacement alone, you might want to tether the front plastic to the handle bars to keep it from stretching the wiring.
